As a person with zest for art and passion, Nivedita has been trained in classical dance form of Bharatanatyam from 1994  the able guidance of Prof M.R.Krishnamurthy at the Kalakshithi School of fine arts, Bangalore. 

She has passed junior, senior and vidwat examination in dance conducted by the Karnataka state secondary examination board securing first class in all.

She was the proud recipient of the junior scholarship for Bharatanatyam, awarded by the council for Cultural Recourses in and Training, New Delhi, since 2001. She was invited by the council to attend their workshop entitled “unity in diversity” held at Pune in 2006. 

A graded artiste of Doordarshan, Nivedita is also passionate about Sitar and has learnt Sitar playing under Ustad Bale Khan for 8 years and presently undergoes training under Pt. T. Radhakrishna from Bangalore.

Nivedita runs her own dance school where she trains many students in different parts of Bangalore. Apart from working as a dance faculty in many organizations, Nivedita also conducts workshops and seminars in addition to choreographing dance sequences for children and upcoming dancers at many educational institutions. 

Some of the noteworthy shows in Nivedita’s career so far are:

  1. Tour of Malaysia in 2012 and performed the “The Temple of Fine Arts” Kuala Lumpur.
  2. A dance production at Tirupathi for the Lord’s Lotus Feet in June, 2014.
  3. Kadambothsava, 2014

Nivedita now lives in Bangalore and is married to Amith Nadig, a popular flautist from whom she is also learning the finer aspects of rhythm. 

She rededicates her years ahead to this divine art form in which she always finds inner peace and fulfillment.
